Life is turning 1 in a little over a month and my graphic designer bestie, Medea, has been working on her birthday party invitation. As some of you know, Life was very sick when she was born, so her first birthday party is going to be a day of celebration for us. All are welcome.
Medea wrote me to tell me the meaning behind the cloud in the invite and so I thought I’d share it with you here:
One thing I keep forgetting to tell you is about the cloud on the front of the invite…. When Life was really sick in the hospital, I had two similar experiences on the road while I was driving in the exact same place about a week apart. There is this really sharp S curve on the back roads going to Firewheel. Twice when I was driving to church on a sunny day, this giant, almost storm cloud was hovering right above me. There was not another cloud in the sky. And peeking out from behind it were the most beautiful rays of sun. Both times God used nature to show me that things were really cloudy right now- so cloudy that if I was right under it, there is no way I would have seen the sun behind it. However, He gave me a bigger perspective by being able to see the beauty and sunshine beyond it and once the cloud had passed. This happened to me twice, two weeks in a row and left me very peaceful about what God was doing in Life.
The cloud stays. It’s perfect.

Meet my amazing Dad. He’s battled two different bouts of brain cancer, two different brain surgeries, chemo, radiation, and lived to tell.
I couldn’t be more thankful for more time with you and more life to live being your daughter. Thanks for being my daddy and sacrificing for us. I love you dearly. Happy Father’s Day, Daddy.
