Well, since I have last blogged, our little family has moved across the country from Dallas, Texas to New Haven, Connecticut for my husband to pursue a PhD at Yale University. It has been a whirlwind of an adventure and one that I have documented mostly through my  Instagram feed. The break from blogging was necessary in order that I could devote my time during this transition to our sweet little family. We have now been living in Connecticut for 9 weeks and there are so many photos to share of this beautiful place. I will start by sharing some photos that I took last week of my Momma when she was in town. This sweet, dear and amazing woman has never seen the beach. {gasp!} Crazy, huh?! You may be wondering “why?” Well, my family was avid mountain-vacationers and just never made it from their home in Dallas to the beach for a vacation. So, I had the privilege of showing my Momma the beach for the first time.

Her first impression? It smelled like fish. Yep. And then she was quiet and peace overcame her. Here are a few photos from the morning:

When I asked Momma to smile for the camera, this is what I got. I guess she liked the ocean.

I’ll never forget this day.

Beautiful Ashley! The word that I use to describe her is “graceful.” Every photo that we took during her bridal portrait session is filled with grace and purity. She laughs freely and is spontaneously up for any creative concept designed by the oh-so-talented, Heather DeStena. The joy is all mine to serve as Ashley and Dmitry’s wedding photographer.
