::: Katie & Joe // The Wedding Pt. I:::
9 June 2010
May 8, 2010 was one of the most beautiful spring days here in Dallas, TX. You couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for a May wedding. Katie and Joe were married at Christ the King Catholic Church and their reception was held at The Biblical Arts Museum. This post was ridiculously long so I decided to make this wedding into two posts. Part One is the wedding and Part Two will be the reception. It was a fun day with lots of great photos of these two beautiful people. Special thanks to Zach McNair for second shooting with me at the wedding and to Natalie Montgomery for second shooting with me at the reception. These two folks killed it and deserve many thanks for a hard day’s work!
This is my gorgeous sister-in-law just 2 days before she gave birth to Mae Margot. She was an absolutely stunning expectant mother and is now an incredible mother. I’m so so so so so blessed to have her in my life!

::: Welcoming Mae :::
20 May 2010
Toronto posts have been interrupted today by the birth of our amazingly beautiful, talented, and awesome niece. Yes, she is only 1 day old, but she is all of those things. Here is miss Mae Margot Larsen in all her sweetness. Born today at 12:59pm weighing 8lbs and 19 inches. She’s gorgeous! Can’t wait for all the fun ahead of us…
CONGRATULATIONS DAN & MON!! xoxo
Proud Papa Lars:
After dinner with our new Toronto friends we decided to go see the famous CN Tower. We were literally running—racing to get to the top of the tower to catch the sunset and get some sweet photos of Toronto at dusk. While running to the tower (that was 3 miles away), we saw this little nook and stopped for this photo. We took 20 seconds to take a few photos and we were off. This will forever be one of my favorite photos of my love. I’ll race the shadows any day with him.
About the title: “Same, Same but Different” was a saying that Matt and I would hear when we were walking the streets of Hong Kong a few years ago and it’s been an inside joke ever since. Canada felt so much like the States in so many ways with subtle differences.
::: Meshali Mitchell // Photographer Profile :::
17 May 2010
Meshali Mitchell is just about one of the funnest/cutest people I know. She is a fabulous photographer who fancies herself through Texas and Arkansas (and all over, for that matter) taking beautiful photographs for brides, grooms and families everywhere. Â When she asked me to take her photos for her new website I was honored and excited. You can see her work on her blog and soon you will find a new website here.
We photographed her at The Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff. Every time I go there I want to spend hours sitting outside of The Soda Gallery drinking an amazing soda and reading a good book. It is, by far, my favorite little couple of blocks in Dallas and I recommend everyone to go there on a date with your honey and eat at Hattie’s.
Isn’t she adorable? I’ll give brief location descriptions on the tops of some of the photos below, for inquiring minds
.
This wall is on the inside of the bathroom in The Soda Gallery. SO cool, huh? This is the kind of fun stuff we do on photoshoots. Shoot in bathrooms? Why not!
Shot inside of Hattie’s. When I get a house one day it will have a “Hattie” influence to it!

Thank you, Meshali, for the privilege to photograph your beautiful self!
