My friendship with the Jabeks began in 2007 when I photographed the season of their wedding. I’ll never forget the first time I met Mary Kay at the Starbucks in the West Village. My first observation was that she was beautiful on the outside and inside. I instantly knew that Mary Kay had a kind heart. Because of that I instantly loved her! I knew I wanted to know them. Then I met Markus. A strapping, quiet and kind Austrian with the greatest accent Dallas has ever heard. I was thrilled to be their photographer for their wedding and even more thrilled to be their friend. Over the years I have had the privilege to photograph them several times and follow their life through Facebook, Twitter and their blog. Almost three years ago Mary Kay and I were pregnant at the same time and our due dates were only 6 weeks apart. While I struggled through my pregnancy, Mary Kay prayed for our little Life and gave her her first Bible with her name engraved on it. (And I cried of course. Precious gift from a kind kind friend.)
In all, I have photographed their engagement session, Mary Kay’s bridal session, their wedding, Isaiah’s newborn photos and now… Isaiah’s 2 year photos. This post is a summary of our latest shoot at the Zoo and a tribute to the Jabeks. You guys are precious to me! It’s a privilege to watch your family grow.
With love…
